This Saturday, May 5, we'll celebrate the May in style in Shepherdstown. We're inviting you to join us for the day, which begins in the streets of Shepherdstown at noon, and ends with a dance at the Men's Club at 8.
The May Day celebration in Shepherdstown is a big, fun community event. We invite lots of musicians and dancers out to help us celebrate spring in the traditional English fashion... with a processional (parade), maypole, dances and morris.... along with other folk customs appropriate to the day. The festivities continue into the evening with a Contra Dance at the Men's Club. The All-Star lineup includes Mary Lea, Dave Wiesler, Paul Oorts and Ralph Gordon. Robbin Schaffer is our caller.
