Fin Moore, son of Scotland’s finest pipe-maker Hamish Moore, has achieved great mastery at the art of making and playing the Scottish smallpipes and border pipes at a very early age. Jerry O’Sullivan has been widely hailed as America’s premier uilleann piper and his technical and melodic mastery of this subtle and expressive instrument are unsurpassed. Performing widely and appearing on over 90 recordings, he maintains historic traditions on the instrument while expanding its range into new genres and media. Multi-instrumentalist Ian Lawther is the undisputed master of the Northumbrian smallpipes on this side of the Atlantic and the lively dance repertoire associated with these tiny pipes. These three pipers will be joined in this showcase by the weekend’s other staff, including flute and binou player John Skelton, Cape Breton fiddle virtuoso Wendy MacIsaac, and flute, whistle, oboe and bombarde player, David Cantieni.
