Hello Dancers,

This Saturday, April 26 – Susan Taylor calls to Devine Comedy with Steve Hickman, fiddle; Marty Taylor, wind instruments; and John Devine, guitar. Come on out and enjoy a night of dancing. This band has been at it since the very beginning of contradancing in our area. The comedy part comes in with the caller... If you don't know what I mean by that, you will just have to see for yourself.

Note: this is the only appearance by the Gardeners this weekend in the D.C. area.

Notes: Our hall is heated or air-conditioned as needed, and we serve a snack at the break.

The dance is held at Trinity School near the Keys Harry Grove Stadium in Frederick. Free dance workshop starts about 7 p.m., and the dance runs from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Refreshment are served at the break.

July 26 – From Oregon, Elinor Preston calls to Out of the Wood from Idaho - Kathy Bowman, fiddle; Pat Marron, fiddle, mandolin, banjo; Vickie Marron, piano.

This Saturday, March 22 in Frederick, MD � Perry Schafran calls to Mortal Wombat with Carl Friedman, fiddle; Michael Friedman, piano; Ralph Barthine, guitar; and Robin Wilson, flute. Come dance to this delightful ensemble, and the cheerful calls of Mr. Schafran.

Note: this is the only appearance by the Gardeners this weekend in the D.C. area.

This Saturday, January 26 in Frederick � David Giusti calls to Lightning Strikes, featuring Corey Walters (flute, whistle, mandolin), Jonah Sidman (fiddle), and Chloe Maher (piano). Hailing from the musical halls of Oberlin College in Ohio, they play a lively mix of traditional Irish, French Canadian, and American tunes as well as newly composed tunes from the contra dance repertoire.

This Saturday November 24 in Frederick � She writes a lot of the dances we do, and now you can dance to Becky Hill as she calls to local greats Elke Baker on fiddle, Liz Donaldson playing piano, and Paul Oorts on multiple instruments. This all-star team will rock your socks off!

So come on out and burn off some of those calories from that turkey, 'taters, yams, green beans, stuffing, cranberries, gravy, pie, ice cream, cake, cookies, candy, coffee, wine, brandy and all the other indulgences of Thanksgiving!

This Saturday in Frederick, July 28 � Janine Smith calls to the Summertunes Band, led by Alexander Mitchel, fiddle; and Liz Donaldson, piano. Summertunes is an all day workshop where over twenty musicans learn a full evening's worth of dance tunes. So come and enjoy the full orchestra sound of the Summertunes Band.
