Welcome to the Frederick, Maryland Contra Dance, where you dance to the finest bands and callers of the Maryland-DC-Northern Virginia region (and nearby West Virginia)—which means great music and great dances every time!
We are a community dance: The community consists of dancers, callers, presenters and musicians from our local area—among the best anywhere— combining to offer a program consistently of the highest quality. Please join us and support the performers you know best!
If you haven’t contra danced before, it is easy to learn! Beginners are welcome at the dances and it is not necessary to bring a partner. Just come early for the workshop.
Sponsored by Mid-Maryland Folk Arts Council (MMFAC) and the Frederick City Department of Recreation.
About the Dance

Convenient to all major routes if you are coming from DC, Baltimore, nearby VA, PA or WV or right here in Frederick County. Directions here.
Admission is $10 general, $5 students, $5 age 12 and under.
See below how to bring a new dancer and dance free next time.
We have grown our dance little by little, with your support. We roll on in 2017 with a great schedule of the top musicians and callers from our own region, and hope you will continue to come out to dance to them. They are all we book. This dance is their home and yours!
Our Next Dance: April 28
